Only possible revenue behind anything twitter: Sellin ads. Or getting bought for their user base by some phone company

twitterfone has no ads that I can see
Perhaps it's a social entrepreneurial project, perhaps?

Me thinks that it has the potential to be nice acquisition. Give it a year to build up a user base and see what happens

Most of the web 2.0 stuff doesn't seem to have any clear revenue model.

Just because it doesn't, doesn't mean it can't. Twitter could do promotions and such....
@mneylon Yes they do! Googles going to buy them. Buy them all.
I think if you look at the companies involved you will see the business model has little to with earning revenue through TwitterFone and a lot to do with their own business and having a sudo-social network of users is an added benefit.

If the twitterfone number was a premuimrate number there would be a nice bit of revenue from that..

I could understand Twitter itself having premium accounts, but why would you pay for one premium account to access another account, be it free or not?
